Proportional Valves

PROPORTIONAL DIRECTIONAL CONTROL VALVES

PVG 32

Flows from 5 - 140 l/min

Supply 12v or 24v DC

Pressures up to 350 bar

Sauer-Danfoss proportional valves comprise of a normal sectional directional control valve with the spools actuated in both directions by solenoids. The solenoids are proportional in that they will drive the spools to a position dependent on the electrical signal received by the solenoid. Once the function starts to receive flow, the valve will compensate for variations in load. Typical applications are when control is required to position an actuator regardless of the loads imposed.

ADVANTAGES

LOAD INDEPENDENT - FLOW CONTROL

Receiving an electrical signal the PVG valve will then meter a flow to an individual function. The flow of oil to that function will be independent of the load pressure of the function.

INDEPENDENT LOAD CONTROL PER SECTION

The valve's sections can each meter different amounts of oil to their particular requirements independently of each other. Units can therefore be used simultaneously for widely differing control functions.

OPEN OR CLOSED CENTRE SPOOL

Choice of open or closed centre spools so that systems can be designed for use with fixed displacement or variable displacement pumps. Load sensing systems require a signal line between the pump & the PVG valve.

Ordering

PVG32 157B-_ _ _

Description

Define fixed or variable pump system.

Define the number of valve sections required.

Define the regulated flow required in each section.

Define the system as 12v or 24v DC supply.

Define load port reliefs if required to control specific functions.

Define with or without manual handle controls.

Temperature

Oil temperature should be between +30ºC & +60ºC during normal operation. Oil life is greatly reduced if temperature exceeds 60ºC. As a general rule, oil life is halved for each 8ºC temperature exceeds 60ºC.

Filtering

It is necessary to keep the level of contamination within a hydraulic system at an acceptable level to ensure trouble free operation. Filtration should always be specified at a level that protects the most sensitive item or component in the system.
