Piston Pumps

OPEN LOOP VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT PISTON PUMPS

SD-45

Capacities 25cc-90cc/rev

Speeds up to 3,600rpm

Pressures up to 350bar

Sauer-Danfoss axial piston pumps can be made to vary their displacement, or swept volume, by altering the angle of the swash plate against which the pistons operate. The pump's variable output flow can be controlled by a number of different criteria, by pressure signals fed back to the swash plate control. Typical applications are small drives where the pump's output is required to remain 'off load' or in a standby condition.

ADVANTAGES

SERVO CONTROLLED DISPLACEMENT

SD 45 pumps use a cradle swashplate design which is servo controlled so that precise variations in displacement can be produced with very low operating forces.

MULTIPLE CONTROL OPTIONS

SD 45 series pumps can be supplied with a variety of control options such as pressure compensating, load sensing, torque limiting or 'power on demand.'

MOUNTINGS FROM SAE B TO SAE C

Units are available with SAE mounting flanges plus a choice or radial or axial facing port flanges. Tandem units are also available in certain displacement combinations.

AUXILIARY POWER TAKE OFF MOUNTING FLANGE

All pumps are available with an SAE A rear flange that can be used for mounting an additional services pump.

Temperature

Oil temperature should be between +30ºC & +60ºC during normal operation. Oil life is greatly reduced if temperature exceeds 60ºC. As a general rule, oil life is halved for each 8ºC temperature exceeds 60ºC.

Filtering

It is necessary to keep the level of contamination within a hydraulic system at an acceptable level to ensure trouble free operation. Filtration should always be specified at a level that protects the most sensitive item or component in the system.
